Directions

Feeding Directions:
Feed AntlerMax® Breeder Elite 300+ feed to deer in confinement. For best results hand feed in a trough. To reduce feed loss to birds and other non-target species feed what the animals will clean up in approximately an hour in the mornings and evenings. Depending on physiological stage of the animals and hay quality, consumption should be in the range of 2% - 4% of body weight. Feeding in a self-feeder is not recommended. This is not a high fiber feed and should supply necessary nutrients except fiber. Feed good quality legume hay free-choice. This product may be fed to elk.
Caution:
This feed contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rodents and insects. Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed to animals as it may cause illness, performance loss or death.
Special Considerations:
Regulations for the feeding of big game can vary from state to state. Please check with your local game and fish department for the proper usage of this product.
Management Practices:
1. A feeding program is only as effective as the management practices. Actual results can vary depending upon feed intake, environmental conditions, and the quality of the management practices. 2. When fed to appetite, consumption will vary according to age, sex, climate, and physiological state but should be in the range of two to four pounds per 100 pounds of body weight. 3. Allow adequate trough space so that all animals can eat at the same time. Feed at rate of two to four pounds per 100 pounds of body weight to maintain desired body condition. 4. If animals have been out of feed for more than three or four hours,do not allow them free-choice access to this feed or other high grain feeds. First allow them to fill up on legume hay then gradually reintroduce them to this feed over several days. This will help reduce digestive upsets. 5. Animals in confinement should not have free access to corn or other grain because eating too much grain at one time can lead to digestive upsets. 6. This feed can be fed free-choice as a creep feed to fawns. Target consumption should be about one pound per 100 pounds of body weight until weaning. 7. This feed can be used as a weaning ration for deer fawns. Feed free-choice along with good quality legume hay after weaning. 8. Provide clean water at all times. 9. Consult your veterinarian for a recommended herd health program.
